What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at AAA Landscape?
OVERVIEW:
Equipment Operators operate various types of construction equipment such as grade tractors, backhoes, uni-loaders, dingoes, forklifts, reach forklifts and water trucks. Besides equipment operations, duties include but are not limited to handling the materials for irrigation, planting, and construction.
Equipment Operators are needed on virtually all types of landscape projects and must know how to efficiently work with his/her hands and with tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, small engine machinery as well as with irrigation materials and equipment. They may be required to assist in clearing and grubbing, hand grading, digging plant holes, trenching and cleaning trenches, gluing pipe, running wires, back-filling and covering pipe, spreading decomposed granite, keeping sites clear and clean and performing a variety of other functions when requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *
- Ability to perform all pertinent competencies Labor
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately.
- Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50-80 lbs., carry materials, bend, twist, kneel, climb, and balance.
- Ability to walk at a brisk pace and work in a kneeling position for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in the rain and in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to withstand dust, pollen and gas fumes on a daily basis.
- Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
- Ability to respond appropriately to supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to arrive on time to work and to work an 8-hour day. Although typical workdays are Mon-Fri, must be able to work the occasional weekend.
- Ability to provide own transportation to and from the job site. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and a Valid Arizona Driver’s License is a must.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job duties can be active and strenuous. The work is subject to extremes of heat, cold, dust, rain, pollution and gas fumes. The work hours depend on the weather condition. Most of the AAA Landscape Construction work is outdoors. Employees need to protect themselves, take necessary precautions and follow all safety protocols. Proper PPE will be provided upon hire.
