This position is established to support and assist individuals in their homes through the provision of household tasks, personal hygiene assistance, and/or related activities.

This position is established to support and assist individuals in their homes through the provision of household tasks, personal hygiene assistance, and/or related activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs homemaking tasks including, but not limited to dusting furniture; sweeping, vacuuming, and washing floors; kitchen care, including dishes, appliances, and counters; bathroom care; changing bed linens; washing windows; removing trash; and laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and putting clothes away.
- Provides personal hygiene assistance, including, but not limited to bed bath, shower, or partial bath; shampoo in sink, tub, or bed; oral hygiene; toileting and elimination; transfer and ambulation; range of motion and positioning; and adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
- Responsible for meal preparation, grocery purchasing, and running errands for the purpose of picking up prescriptions.
- Completes, neatly, accurately, and timely, all required paperwork and documentation for each individual.
- Applies principles of health and safety in relation to self and individual.
- Reports changes in individual’s status to supervisor.
- Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program approved by the Ohio Department of Health.
- Must be listed on Ohio department of health’s nurse aide registry.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Must possess good communications skills, both written and verbal, and good observation skills.
- Must have knowledge of general housekeeping procedures and possess good homemaking skills.
- Must be able to organize time and set priorities.
- Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
- Must be courteous, cooperative, and even tempered toward clients and coworkers.
- Must be free of any disqualifying criminal offenses as determined by background check.
- Must be able to enter client homes and other potentially handicap inaccessible buildings.
- Ability to communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively.
- Ability to travel.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: Carry job related items weighting up to 50lbs into private homes and facilities which may not be readily accessible. Stand; walk; sit, type, talk.
