Job Description
Organize and direct physical Layer 1 network site surveys and installations. Assess and document current network configurations and requirements. Design and optimize Layer 1 network topologies. Direct and lead preparation of engineering plans and installations. Develop installation schedule, mobilize the network installation team, and direct and lead the preparation of drawings and documentation of network topology. Contribute to network plans, strategies, and analysis. Plan and execute tasks in conjunction with other LAN staff.

Requirements:
- Requires an AA/AS degree in a related field of study and a minimum of five years of IT experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Additional experience may be substituted for the degree.
- Specialized experience includes performing the full range of network Layer 1 installation tasks in a networked environment.
- Shall have demonstrated skills and experience with the following technologies: TCP/IP, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, 10/100 GigE, Fiber Optics, Air-Blown Fiber Systems, CAT 5 and 6, IEEE cabling specifications, and specific vendor cabling specifications.
- Experience supporting a nationwide mid to large Federal agency enterprise is a plus.
- BiCSi certification is required.
- Must be able to obtain agency suitability clearance.
