What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern, Media Production position at AACRAO?
The Media Production Intern is a member of AACRAO’s Marketing & Communication team, helping tell AACRAO’s story through video and audio content, as well as providing general marketing and communication support. You’ll collaborate with a small but talented team as you capture video content, edit and produce videos for a variety of audiences and mediums, and contribute to crafting a cohesive narrative across the organization. This is a part-time position at an estimated 20-28 hours/week.
- Capture video footage and b-roll.
- Edit and produce video marketing collateral, including promotional videos, social media clips, etc.
- Manage video requests through GatherVoices, our online member-engagement video platform.
- Organize and manage video files.
- General marketing and communication support.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (such as a printer)
- Hybrid. One day/week in the DC office and occasional travel in the DC area to cover events.
- Option for occasional domestic travel beyond DC to capture video footage and interviews.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate is creative, eager to learn, open to feedback, enjoys collaborating with others, and can see a project through from beginning to completion. They have a portfolio of media production work to share, as well as general experience with marketing and communication (or a willingness to learn). Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. This is an excellent position for a recent graduate or current undergrad/grad student who wants to expand their media production portfolio and gain professional Marketing and Communication experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated video production skills (required) and audio production skills (desired)
- Marketing experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to help people feel comfortable on camera
- Ability to see a project through from beginning to completion
- BA/BBA/BS degree or current undergraduate student (must show proof of enrollment)
- 1 year of related experience (may use portfolio or coursework to demonstrate experience)
