Aaron's is looking for a Copywriter/Content Strategist to work within our highly collaborative marketing department. The person in this role must be a creative writer passionate about retail and ecommerce storytelling. Our copywriter will lead the execution of a consistent brand voice across many channels for customer facing marketing materials including direct mail, email, social media, promotional site assets, blog content, SEO copy, and display ads. Will work cross functionally with both print and digital marketing managers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and write high quality, customer-focused content to educate and convert using a fun and approachable voice
- Develop quarterly blog content calendar and write 8 corresponding blogs a month
- Ensure content follows SEO best practices set by the digital marketing team and external agency partners
- Develop a process with the merchandising team to obtain, review and optimize product information
- Proof copy for consistency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with Aaron's brand standards and style guide as well as the Legal department
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Advertising or Marketing
- Minimum of 4-5 years marketing copywriting experience, preferably in the retail or finance industries
- Exceptional grammar, writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent communication and organization skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Team player able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Able to receive and incorporate stakeholder feedback professionally
- Ability to understand and implement content optimization techniques for SEO
- Experience with Google's Keyword Tool and WordPress
