AARP's Integrated Communications and Marketing (ICM) Group includes Membership, Content and Editorial, Customer Experience, External Relations, Brand Strategy and Strategic Communications. The Digital Programs/Project Manager executes large and complex projects that support the achievement of organizational strategic priorities. Determines resources needed, tracks budgets, determines scope, tracks progress towards milestones, establishes timelines, and evaluates progress. Manages project teams including internal and external stakeholders and vendors to deliver on project goals. Establishes project communication plans and ensures internal and external stakeholders are informed regarding project processes and impact. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department. The Digital Programs/Project Manager will focus on the operations and day-to-day management of the "Social Impact" pod (matrix team of coders, designers, and product managers).


Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of large and complex projects that align with the strategic priorities of the organization. Oversees all aspects of project management including project charter development, project scope development, project schedules, project costs, deliverable quality, human and material resource management, risk management, procurement, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Updates and maintains associated project management processes, including creating and implementing work plans, and helps to develop and implement new and evolving business processes.
  • Manages financial and procurement elements of projects, to include collaboration with and management of vendor Master Services Agreements and/or Statements of Work as necessary.
  • Reports on the status of projects to senior management to convey all elements of project status and the impact and results of work.
  • Oversees the execution of administrative tasks as necessary, such as calendaring, organizing meetings, processing expense reimbursements, maintaining contact lists, and assisting with travel arrangements.
  • Leads operational and/or logistical support for AARP programs and/or services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of business experience, including 5 years of digital program, project, or product management and client management experience for a large, consumer-facing organization.
  • Experience with established, large-scale content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager).
  • Independent judgement and discretion, with strong attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task required.
  • Demonstrated project team leadership skills and experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent people skills, with demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and nurture strong, respectful, productive professional relationships internally and externally.
  • Adapting content and tools for mobile, as well as exposure to user experience work a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred and familiarity with digital user identity management (login & registration) and Adobe Analytics, a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics, as well as familiarity with project and/or task management systems (such as, Confluence, Jira, etc.) preferred.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
