General Summary: Under the direction of the IT PMO Manager; project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. This position requires technical aptitude and project management discipline experience in Microsoft's Windows 11 upgrades, communications, development and delivery of training, and Job Aids

Essential Functions: Sound Transit is currently running Windows10 OS which is end of life and will no longer be Microsoft supported as of October 14, 2025. To avoid support issues in case of any future OS functionality problems and to remain compliant for State of Good Repair, Sound Transit's IT Support, IT Desktop Services, and IT PMO need to proactively upgrade to Windows11 prior to that date. This Sr. Project Manager must have experience to drive and successfully complete the Windows 11 OS Upgrade project and ensure a robust knowledge base is in place for smooth end user transition and develop new machine standard image, prior to the October 14, 2025, Microsoft support deadline. This project aligns with I&O PC refresh plans where hardware upgrades are needed to receive the new OS. Additionally, the Sr. Project Manager will support all project efforts including communications, training, Job Aids, project documentation (following all Sound Transit requirements and processes), as well as, project planning, implementation, testing, and closing.

Deliverables: Project Leadership and Decision-Making: " Drive project leadership following the Sound Transit project management framework, guidelines, documentation, and tools. " Make real-time decisions based on established guidelines and communication disciplines. Coordination: " Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the development of project-related artifacts. " Develop and manage all communication plans. " Develop and manage all training plans and documents. Project Delivery: " Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining quality

Status Reports: Provide regular updates, ranging from weekly to monthly, on project status goals using the Sound Transit ServiceNow Project Management module and following the IT PMO reporting cadence. Bi-weekly status reports to be sent out on the last day of the reporting week no later than EOD.

Special / Additional Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science, information technology, business management, information systems, or closely related field and eight years of experience in information technology project delivery or project management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Needs Experience in Windows Upgrades, develop training materials, Agency wide communication, testing actives and defect documentation, and job aids

Required Licenses or Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) Specific Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills: 5 or more years as a Sr. Project Manager
