What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Flex - 1st Shift position at ABB Inc.?
This position will be providing support to four major areas of the plant. It's a support role to help manage workload in certain areas, provide backup assistance and vacation management. Employees will be trained in all four areas for 90 days at a time and then rotate quarterly to different areas to keep skills enhanced to provide the most assistance. The three areas to provide reserve support is: Assembly Test Paint Molding
Your responsibilities- Safety
- Understands and follows plant safety policies and procedures
- Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing
- Wears required protective equipment
- Dresses and conducts self in a safe manner
- Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S
- Participates in plant safety objectives and programs
- Assembly Reserve:
- Will be actively involved in all aspects of manufacturing.
- Develops improvements in areas of cost, quality, process, safety, scrap reduction and service to internal and external customers.
- Makes suggestions to eliminate waste and continually improve processes.
- Tester Reserve:
- Performs duties as assigned following all instructions according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform test, setup, assembly, and disassembly of product at targeted stations for efficiency and effectiveness levels.
- All shop floor documentation including travel tags, quality, and training records will be accurate, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
- Paint Reserve:
- Perform tasks involving the preparation of products for conductive and insulation molding - assembly of components, spray painting, hand painting, grit blasting and deflash. .
- Using the operating route sheet and work instructions, identifies materials and tools necessary to perform operation.
- Completes documentation including travel tags, quality, and training records will be accurate, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
- Sustain production, maintain all tools, machinery and facilities in the work area.
- Coordinate production with other employees to maintain quality standards and constant product flow.
- Molding Reserve:
- Performs duties as assigned following all job instructions (JI) according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Operates molding machines at targeted efficiency and effectiveness levels.
- Performs trimming and runs inserts, jackets and insulation per JI.
- Must submit floor documentation, production records, travel tags and training. Documentation will be accurate, legible and timely submitted.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Has self-motivation to take on additional responsibilities to enhance value to organization
- Works with supervisor on personal development plan
- Attends and completes educational and training opportunities to improve skills and behaviors
- Reports directly to shift supervisor who will designate job assignments/training and measure performance to job expectations
- Makes suggestions to eliminate waste and continually improve processes
- Must interact, communicate and work effectively with all plant employees and visitors
- Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs
- Can work overtime as needed to meet Business Objectives
