ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is located in Mebane, North Carolina. As a Fabrication Planner 2nd shift, responsible for releasing orders to the shop floor, that coordinate with production requirements - while having extensive knowledge and understanding of fabrication machines. This person will be responsible for initializing and maintaining sheet metal system parameters for optimum productivity, inventory and quality.
Your responsibilities- Responsible for creating and maintaining Sheet Metal and Copper planning (manufacturing instructions, NC code, tooling documentation)
- Provide quick response to all fabrication systems & planning issues to support assembly requirements
- Prototype & test custom parts for all product lines within the plant
- Plan new parts - Library new parts to Trutops Boost and Ehrt PunchPro
- Master data corrections in SAP (Boms and Routings)
- Review Rev changes / CNs, WAs, and ECNs
- Nest parts in Trutops Boost
- Participates in daily meetings
- Support daily operations in Fab
- 1 year of fabrication experience (sheet metal equipment & processes)
- Excellent Math skills: Fractions, decimals, volume and area, geometry: radius, diameter, circumference
- Mechanical or extensive fabrication experience
- Experience with 3D modeling software
- Familiarity of fabricated parts used on all product lines
- Exhibit a strong desire to accomplish goals
- Computer drafting experience
- 1 year of SAP experience
- 1 year CAD and/or CAM experience
- Knowledge of NC code for CNC machinery
- Self-motivated / Problem Solver - Provides input at Tier 2 meetings and production meetings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to flex hours to meet business needs
- Proficiency reading blueprints and working with 3D models
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
