What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Technician position at ABB Inc.?
Your responsibilities
- * Assist with and perform work on industrial machinery including repair scopes, parts cleaning, job set-up and tear down, assembly and disassembly, and general preparation and close-out work as directed.
- * Assists all classes of shop technicians where and as needed.
- * May be assigned as dedicated resource to Mechanical, Motor, Winding or Switchgear department as a specialized helper.
- * May participate in special projects to improve shop efficiency and throughput.
- * May be required to participate in overtime or flexible shifts as necessary to meet job requirements.
- * May be utilized as a support resource for field service work.
- Required:
- * High School Diploma or equivalent.
- * Self-starter able to work with minimal direction.
- * Must be willing to work overtime to ensure timely job completion.
- * Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
- * Must be willing to travel as needed to perform or support field service opportunities.
- * Must have basic computer skills for training activities, communication, report development, etc.
- * Flexibility to change working style or approach based on changing job requirements or challenges that arise.
- * Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
- Desired:
- * 2 technical degree or equivalent industrial experience.
- * Strong electrical and/or mechanical background.
- * High level of initiative or creativity that adds value to job planning and execution.
- * Willingness to volunteer for travel and overtime opportunities above and beyond normal expectations.
