What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Specialist position at ABB Inc.?
In this role, you will be focused on improving the customer experience in product quality and performance in the warranty returns area of the warehouse and oversee quality improvement initiatives in all areas of the value chain from suppliers to customer. You will also ensure high quality assistance to the customers for all technical or application critical situations related to the products and assure products and systems meet stated requirements in a cost effective and safe working environment within the local business.
This position reports toProcurement & Logistics Manager
Your responsibilities- Operations: Drive warehouse quality center operational efficiency and lean improvements. Evaluate and determine functionality of products returned to accept or reject based on technical specifications, quality standards, established procedures, etc. Maintains complete and accurate data in the ERP system (SAP) and customer-facing system (Salesforce).
- Process and Product Quality Control: Ensures the quality control of the system processing and product testing according to international standards and internal procedures. Ensures the local organization has the necessary hardware and software capability to assure products and systems meet specified requirements and customer expectations.
- Customer Quality Service: Acts timely as coordinator in customer complaints to analyze root cause and take corrective and preventive actions working with cross-functional teams.
- Performance targets: Designs, develops, and implements effective metrics that show inefficiencies, prioritizes areas for improvement, identifies improvement actions and focuses on causes and corrective actions to reduce waste.
- Quality Monitoring: Oversees weekly and monthly quality reports and improvement activities. Monitors and reviews progress and suggests correction to meet the key performance indicator targets.
- Quality System: Ensures that the unit is aligned with the Quality Management System. Define, implement, and continuously improve warehouse quality center processes while adhering to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Safety: Implements and ensures that safety systems are in place, known, and utilized by assigned personnel resulting in an accident-free workplace.
- Associates Degree, preferably in an electrical, mechanical, industrial, or technical discipline.
- 3 years of technical experience in a manufacturing or warehouse facility.
- Background in Electrical Industry (residential or industrial) preferred.
- Quality experience desired.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems preferred.
- Awareness of Low voltage products devices and regulations (IEC/UL/CCC/CSA) a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
