As a Trainer - Operations (2nd Shift), need to support the Byhalia DC operations team though one-on-one, small group, hands on and classroom instruction. The role will work closely with department supervisors team leads and managers to understand business needs, then use that information to develop appropriate organizational training on their assigned shift.
Your responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate focused training programs for all employees based on operational need for evening shift at distribution center
- Conduct classroom training and hands on training events for all new hires and in support of cross training initiative
- Support development and maintenance of training curriculum, documentation and course presentation materials
- Document and maintain training records for assigned operational units and class participants
- Serve as Mentor to new hires through their first 30 days post training
- Conducts mandatory training programs for all new personnel (i.e.: Forklift Safety, A/C 609, etc.)
- Collaborate with peers, subject matter experts, and end-user customers to define, clarify, and validate training requirements and specifications
- Drive cross training imitative on shift to ensure 60% or more of shift is cross trained in designated operations
- Conduct process audits to ensure trainees follow defined operational instructions
- Occasionally support training on day shift as needed
- Other projects as assigned to support distribution quality and inventory teams
Your background
- Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent diploma, with a preference to completing training.
- Two (2) or more years working in distribution or manufacturing operations
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in training equipment drivers and operations teams
- Certified driver for order picker, reach truck, counterbalance and power jack equipment
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
- Ideal candidate will be certified trainer by a recognized agency
