Your role and responsibilities
Working as a Product Manager, you will be a key member of Product Management in ABB's Power Protection Product Group, defining roadmaps, driving growth and profitability, and responsible for all product management initiatives. This person will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of assigned product lines, responsible for all aspect of the Power Protection OEM UPS offerings in NAM market from market segments analysis, business case creation, roadmap, life cycle management. Looking for someone to be a driving force to execute ABB’s Power Protection Global Product Group strategy and targets. Support business results by overseeing all steps of the offering life cycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability. This role will need to be able to work a hybrid in-person schedule (#LI-Hybrid) from Richmond, VA. You will be mainly accountable for: - Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunities. - Owning technical and market specification for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following-up on portfolio performance. - Leading the offer lifecycle management process, analyzing current offers, defining, and tracking performance metrics, and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability. - Setting targets, monitoring offering costs and giving inputs to operations functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability. - Working closely with the Product Owner and planning the roadmap to create maximum value and ensure portfolio performance
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’ Degree electrical engineering/other engineering disciplines (or Business Degree with exceptional market experience), MBA preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years in product management, commercial, strategic marketing or similar role in electrification, power protection industry.
- Previous experience in UPS industry preferred
- Understanding of mission critical segments: Data Center, Infrastructure, Utility.
- Strong technical acumen, experience influencing key customers and partners.
- Experience in leading in matrix organization.
- Excellent communication skills in English Fluent in English.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
