Working as a Project Engineer, you will lead the execution of medium-size projects within Electrification Distribution Solutions in United State. By managing all project related activities within the factory from purchase order to shipment and own the commercial and technical communication to the field project teams and customers. In this role, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities
- Engage with the proposal team to review orders from a technical and commercial standpoint during order entry. Ensure customer requirements are in line with ABB contractual obligations
- Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies
- Act as the primary contact for all order-related matters to the various stakeholders outside of the factory. Manage the entire order-cycle including scheduling, delivery of drawings, execution in the shop, on-time shipment, invoicing coordination, and closing. Provide status/progress updates to all stakeholders with appropriate level of detail
- Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow. Support all aspects of orders to enhance shipped margin opportunities. Under general direction, resolve disputes involving invoicing, back charges, escalation, delays, and warranty charges
- Identifies, qualifies, quantifies, and manages risk, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued
- Responsible for quotation and booking of change orders. Initiate price change requests, apply mark-ups, prepare quotations, and implement schedule changes, as appropriate
- Ensures that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer
- Captures, analyze and shares lessons learned throughout the project
- Collaborate cross-functionally in a coordinated and professional way to create a team environment that achieves project success
- Will take responsibility of MV SWGR PM and manage both MV SWGR and PSG. Manage co-ordinations with other equipment
Your background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field AND
- 8 years of experience in Electrification, Manufacturing or Project Management is preferred.
- Knowledge of Project Management disciplines and process. ABB Certified Associate PM.
- Must be familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP, and other applicable software.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be self-motivated with a high level of creativity.
- Travel is approximately 5%.
- Complex problem-solving skills required.
- Strong conflict resolution skills required.
- Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States
