Abbey Lane is seeking to hire a bright and dynamic Maintenance Technician for our luxury property in Danbury CT.
Full Job Description Essential Job Function:
Must be able to provide fast, friendly, and high-quality maintenance service for our residents.
You will be responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs in areas such as, but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall repair, general cleaning, appliance maintenance and exterior structure maintenance.
Prepare vacant apartments for our next resident by carefully inspecting, evaluating performance, and making any necessary repairs.
Ensure workplace safety through the participation of all applicable safety rules and requirements.
Participate in emergency on-call shifts and after-hours maintenance.
For this position, it is required that you walk throughout the community.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of basic principles of building maintenance, including standard practices, methods, tools, and materials including the inspection, repair and maintenance of functional parts of mechanical equipment and machinery.
Knowledge of local and state building codes, and OSHA work practices.
Knowledge of safety rules, including accident causation and prevention.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a supervisor, co-workers, residents, contractors, and the general public.
Ability to complete work order forms in accordance with established procedures and document completions.
Ability to establish and maintain records, such as work orders and parts inventor
Physical Effort and Working Conditions: The incumbent must be able to handle light and heavy duty equipment, handle objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds and do frequent stooping, bending, lifting, and walking. The employee occasionally works in awkward positions, noisy and dirty areas, and uncomfortable weather conditions.
