The Opportunity
This position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Nutrition Division.
The Brand Manager will be responsible for driving the Pediatric Specialty Nutrition (PSN) businesses to effectively achieve commercialization, profit margin and business plan objectives including P&L responsibility. Responsible for the development, management and execution of strategies to achieve the business plan, specifically focused on monthly financial analysis, supply and inventory management, quarterly business planning, market dynamics and trend analysis across channels and customers, Advertising Promotion & Gratis (AP&G) budget management, agency leadership, and project management.
What You’ll Work On
Develop and provide strategic planning and commercial input to the development of the PSN portfolio.
Direct the long term strategy: Oversee the identification of key segment business drivers, priorities, and growth opportunities.
Participate in the development of business plans, identify areas of concern, and modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace.
Responsible for managing marketing activity associated with the brand in the US
Responsible for managing supply and inventory including SKU level monitoring & prioritization across the PSN portfolio
Lead the strategic development and delivery of business financial and consumption monthly reports, analytics commentary, and channel KDIs/KPIs
Lead cross functional team in business analysis, supply management, forecasting for the brand
Analyze multiple external data points to identify risk / opportunities, and create contingency plans as needed
Lead the collaboration with the Commercial Operations team.
Lead competitive landscape assessments to drive recommendations for how to approach the businesses/ channels differently to drive sales, share, and margin.
Identify future research needs to aid in plan/ long- range plan development.
Measure performance of activations plans and proactively recommend action to continuously improve ROI.
Manage budget monthly with direct input to forecast models and financial decisions
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups may include the Field Sales teams, Retail Sales Teams, Commercial Operations, Commercial Analytics, Logistics, Deployment, Supply Chain, Quality, Medical, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Public Affairs, Legal, R&D, Sr. Leaders, Global Abbott Partners and external vendors or agencies.
ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE / BUDGET:
Selected candidate will be accountable for developing and executing strategic and tactical objectives associated with driving Pediatric Specialty Nutrition sales and margin. Actions and decisions will affect attainment of financial goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
3-5 years of brand management or marketing experience. Preferred experience in healthcare or food and beverage industry
3+ years of demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams
Time and project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
An ability to think strategically and develop annual plans and financial commitments
An understanding of trends and an ability to respond to changing customer needs
Creativity and an ability to produce innovative and original ideas Intellectual curiosity
The ability to manage and allocate budgets
Written and verbal communication skills
Experience with and an understanding of market research and data
Sales experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications
MBA strongly preferred.
