Responsible for design for cost of reagents and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Must utilize analytical methods to determine the should cost of the current products (made or bought) and then pivot to understand what changes are required to reach the lowest possible could cost. Technical expert, who independently investigates, identifies, develops and optimizes new methods, processes, or techniques to address design to cost targets. Can assist in writing protocols, reports, and amendments; performing validations for methods, processes or equipment; coordinating with collaborators to execute protocols and studies; and continuously seeks to improve existing methods and processes.

- Develop and leads agreed purchasing strategies for category
- Seek, develop and establish business relationships with diverse suppliers
- Meet regularly with divisional customers and lead functions to ensure superior customer satisfaction and continuous improvement for efficiencies.
- Responsible for performance management of all supportive personnel (non-exempts)
Leading People:
- Responsible for leading and mentoring Associate Specialist and Specialist procurement personnel. Provides guidance and training to Specialist.
- Understand and apply cultural awareness with foreign business entities
- Drive and grow strong effective business relationships with suppliers, clients and customers.
Compliance:
- Responsible to drive compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Accountability:
- Executes against the goals set by the Category Leads /Managers/Directors
- Drive innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field, plus minimum of 5-8 years of relevant work
- experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must have complete
- understanding of specified functional area. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in industry with method development / validation expertise in chromatography, mass spectrometry,
- UV-visible spectroscopy and in-vitro dissolution in a cGMP environment. Serve as a significant resource of
- technical information, laboratory techniques or operation processes, and openly express ideas and opinions.
- Act as a mentor. Interact with peers and groups outside project boundaries. Teach, advise and lead by
- example. Contribute and/or co-author scientific or technical papers and/or patents. Present posters at national
- scientific meetings when appropriate.
