The Opportunity

We are seeking talent for an opportunity in our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation Division.

Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

A Design Assurance Engineer assures new or modified products conform to quality standards and establishes compliance with the quality system. Responsible for maintaining a strong collaborative partnership with cross-functional team members that facilitates organizational success by protecting patient/user safety and meeting business needs.

What You’ll Work On

  • Serve on process / product improvement teams promoting and assuring quality in product development projects.
  • Lead Process/Quality Engineering support to product and process improvements teams.
  • Lead Operation Quality activities associated with product/process updates.
  • Reduces and controls Manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, customer complaints) by leading efforts/teams focused on identifying the primary root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develops and implements product quality plans, documents and systems by creating product specifications, quality specifications, quality plans, risk analyses, FMEAs in conjunction with other product development team members.
  • May be responsible for creating risk analyses and FMEAs.
  • Develops and implements Process Monitoring Systems by identifying critical process and devising methods to reduce process variation in order to reduce/eliminate the cause of defects.
  • Leads Product/Process improvement efforts by identifying methods to capture quality metric data and by identifying & performing appropriate analysis methods to enhance sustaining product design and new product development.
  • Creates Quality Tools & Training Materials by understanding the limitations of existing quality tools and training materials, by identifying & implementing more effective tools & materials, and by communicating new tools/materials to respective teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) -Engineering or Technical Field OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 5 years - Previous Quality engineering experience and demonstrated use of Quality tools/methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a particular technological field. Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/ relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  •  Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

The base pay for this position is $71,300.00 – $142,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
