Our location in Lake Forest, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Director, Data Science & Data Engineering Analytics - Global Strategic Marketing within our Rapid Diagnostic division. The person hired in this role will be committed to understanding consumers, customers, and markets and using analytics to identify opportunities to grow the Abbott business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Create and lead the Customer & Market Analytics organization within the Global Strategic Marketing department. This position will raise the analytical IQ of the organization by providing thought leadership to identify, develop and implement business-driving analytical solutions.
- Design and build systems for collecting, cleaning, and storing appropriate data to support statistical models and business analysis.
- Use analytic data techniques and statistical methods related to business analysis, data mining, experiments design, modeling, etc., to understand the business and recommend improvements.
- Create and maintain forecasting models for business reporting to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Communicate analysis and findings clearly to senior leaders and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Marketing, Market Insights, Finance, Sales, and Health Economics & Outcomes Research to identify and evaluate opportunities to maximize growth.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING*
- Bachelor's Degree: Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Quantitative Analysis, Business Analytics, Strategy, Math, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years working in a matrix environment with a track record of career growth.
- A minimum of 3 years leading an analytics team.
- Creative business problem solving by analyzing situations and applying critical thinking to resolve.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills and the ability to influence senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Self-starter with a bias for action and results orientation. Able to prioritize, focus, and execute through obstacles. Innovative thinker with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional internal stakeholders and work effectively with business partners and senior leadership.
- Skilled in data engineering and data architecture to define processes and structures to prepare data for analysis
- Proficient in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL and modeling techniques such as linear regression, black-box models, probability, and K means clustering
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Master's Degree: Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Quantitative Analysis, Business Analytics, Strategy, Math, Statistics, Economics, or related field
- Global customer analytics experience in Africa, Asia, Europe, North or South America
- Azure, PowerBI, and Salesforce.com experience
- Healthcare industry experience
