This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the CHR Corporate Human Resources division.
The HR Communications, Graphic Desginer supports the Executive Vice President of HR and leads communication efforts to educate, inform and encourage action on all company health and compensation benefits, training and development, and related processes to all Abbott employees worldwide. We also collaborate with the HR Portal Strategy team to maintain and update content and visuals on myHR. We use multiple channels from print to digital and rely heavily on the use of engaging visual content and consistency globally with our many campaigns. Our success relies on a strong designer and project manager.

What You’ll Work On
- This person supports the global HR Communications team and our other HR colleagues to help create compelling visual campaigns, programs and promotions that convey our corporate brand, our global visual benefits strategy, and our employee value proposition.
- This role requires a collaborative strategic partner who can lead design efforts across multiple channels, interact and provide counsel to HR benefits colleagues, oversee and manage vendors and print production, provide video design, curate our photo library and manage vendor relationships.
- Key projects include global development week, annual benefits open enrollment in the U.S., our global benefits brand strategy, Exercise Across Abbott, talent acquisition materials, payroll calendars, EVP of HR communications as needed, and many projects that support the HR function.
- The position plays an integral role in the look and feel of our HR communications to employees. We work on critical information that often has tight deadlines and turnaround times.
- The Graphic Designer has a strong collaborative position on the team to ensure that our communications meet our quality standards, reflect our communications strategy and supports the corporate brand. Success in this role depends on an in-depth understanding of the Abbott brand as well as familiarity with our programs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum Experience / Training Required: 2-4 years of experience
- Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Illustrator as well as PowerPoint, Word and other formats, experience with video editing software
