The Shipping Clerk I is a functional role that includes shipping and receiving tasks to ensure all shipments are received and / or shipped in a timely manner and per requirements.
This position may also include Warehousing & Inventory tasks if applicable. What You'll Work On
- Timely processing of receipts and shipments, including international and DG.
- International and DG shipping training and certification provided.
- Cross functional communication with Regulatory, Customer Service, Purchasing, Planning, and others as required.
- Timely returns processing if applicable.
- Follow provided control procedures to complete tasks.
- Complete Warehousing & Inventory execution tasks if applicable.
- Perform Material Movements both physically and systematically.
- Generate Work Orders from an ERP system.
- Perform Work Order Receipts in ERP system.
- Perform cycle counting.
- Process stock transfers and material requests.
- Maintain a neat and safe work environment.
- Operate material handling equipment.
- Including potential use of forklifts or other equipment with appropriate training and / or certification.
- Load and / or unload trucks as required.
- Some areas will require the handling of chemicals with proper training and PPE.
- Must work over time as required for business needs.
- Support all initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
- Ability to work occasional or regularly scheduled overtime
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and / or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2 years experience in a related field of work
- General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and SAP
