What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Supply Chain Planning position at ABBVIE?
- Accountable for Supply Chain activities to maintain full product availability and to meet strategic and financial needs of each brand whether manufactured within AbbVie or at TPM and supplied to AbbVie third party warehouse locations or direct export to distributors across the globe
- Accountable for inventory and assurance of supply strategies for a portion of over $3 billion of inventory across the AbbVie network Drive strategic initiatives for Supply Chain on the topics of inventory management, supply chain planning systems and processes, supply assurance strategies, and organizational team design, among others.
- Partner with manufacturing sites on overall AbbVie planning processes, including acting as the core liaison for at least one major manufacturing site or TPM within the network. Lead rough cut capacity planning reviews with sites, identifying potential future capacity constraints, mitigating challenges, and elevating risks to senior leaders as needed.
- Develop, challenge and coach a team of 10-15 team members to achieve top performance and productivity. Identify high potential staff and supporting employee development plans. Coach and support the supervisor(s) in their managerial role. Drive the AbbVie culture across the team and create and sustain a positive environment displaying high levels of motivation and excellent team spirit.
- Achievement of key performance indicators. Review performance against KPI’s, develop and implement corrective actions and identify improvement opportunities to address performance issues.
- Manage and continuously improve Pipeline/New Product Introduction processes to ensure availability of product at the time of launch and meet strategic needs of each product.
- Input into Sales & Operations Planning process and assigned Brand Team performance.
- Explore innovative opportunities and implement continuous improvements, by means of a project sponsor role, to ensure projects are successfully achieved according to charter or supporting focus of core job responsibility within the teams.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with planning staff, other AbbVie operations personnel, affiliates, and external stakeholders. Build an effective relationship with Commercial as Area Champion and with AbbVie Manufacturing as a source champion.
- Assure compliance with AbbVie quality, financial, and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor of Science, SC, Logistics, Engineering, Economics or Business Management or equivalent. MBA or higher education desired
- APICS certification desired, but not required
- At least 8-12 years’ experience in operations, QA, supply chain management and/ or financial management, preferably in the health care industry or food industry.
- 3-5 years supervisory or people managerial experience in a production and/or distribution environment
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders
- Proven project management skills, with a track record of leading cross functional projects with excellent results as well as with coaching project leads. A strong sense of urgency and the ability to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strategic mindset and ability to think at an enterprise level. Experience in managing SC activities in various stages of a product life cycle
