Job Title: Child care Teacher (infant, Younger Toddler, Older Toddler
Reports to: Director
Position Summary:
Teaches class in a safe, enjoyable, and positive learning environment that promotes early childhood education, in conjunction with our curriculum.
Essential Functions:
1. Teaches children while keeping the safety and well-being of the children as a priority.
2. Builds effective relationships with parents so they feel comfortable when leaving their child with confident, reliable teachers.
3. Works closely with a classroom assistant to provide an enriching educational experience.
4. Keeps accurate records of attendance, incident reports, personal information and special needs as specified by parents.
5. Follows ABC Childcare’s policies and procedures as explained in the employee handbook.
Responds to emergencies quickly.
6. Exhibits productive time management skills, builds positive relationships with students and their parents and is willing to participate in staff meetings and trainings.
7. Maintains cleanliness of the classroom and equipment.

Qualifications:
1. Required certifications: Pediatric CPR & Pediatric First Aid (which we will provide) and Child
Abuse training.
2. Required background check which includes four clearances.
3. The pre-school teacher must have a pleasant, patient, outgoing and understanding personality with an aptitude for understanding children and parent’s needs.
4. Classes in education, pre-school certification or previous experience are preferred.
5. Must understand the growth and development of the 3–5-year-old child.
6. Previous experience with diverse populations, ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds is preferred.
7. Ability to follow lesson plans, organize and implement age/developmentally appropriate activities.
Physical Demands:
1. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, running, standing, bending, reaching, and possibly lifting children.
2. Ability to plan, lead and participate in all activities, including gym activities and playground supervision.
3. Ability to complete the required daily cleaning of the classroom.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $15.75 per hour
