ABC News is seeking a Manager of Production Operations for our cutting-edge Studios division! We're seeking a passionate individual to spearhead operational and technical excellence, driving forward our diverse range of productions, from captivating digital content to riveting linear broadcasts. As a key player in our team, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring seamless studio operations, unleashing your creativity and managerial prowess to enhance our storytelling capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a diverse team, including DGA, NABET, IATSE employees (Local 1, Local 829, Local 764, and Local 798).
- Collaborate closely with the show Director, Logistics Desk, and Network Acquisition Center.
- Schedule studio crew, as well as facilities, to adapt to changing show needs.
- Work closely with show production staff to maintain budgetary control for daily operations.
- Engage in fieldwork, including potential travel, to supervise remote production operations.
- Respond promptly to breaking news.
- Apply extensive knowledge in interpreting and applying contracts to assist with cost-saving measures.
- Hire, schedule, and manage payroll for employees working at ABC Facilities and various remote locations.
- Aid in the negotiations and enforce Collective Bargaining Agreements with all Unions.
- Coordinate scenic installations, from the bidding process to load-in. Issue purchase orders for contracted scenic work.
- Manage capital projects for upgrading studio lighting and rigging systems.
- Schedule and manage trucking activities for scenery and props, utilizing third-party vendors and coordinating with Teamster Local 817.
- Manage ramp crews at various locations, including scenic storage areas.
- Work with Senior Management to scout studio space for productions.
- Handle the moving of productions between studios and locations.
- Arrange for the rental of lighting packages requested by various ABC NY productions.
- Oversee the purchase of technical production equipment used by ABC facilities and productions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in a media environment
- Proven experience in television production, showcasing your mastery of operations and management in a fast-paced media environment.
- Willing to travel to remote locations to lead production operations
- Exceptional organizational and coordination skills, coupled with a knack for communication and collaboration.
- Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, weekends, and evenings to ensure 24/7 operational coverage

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $94,800 to $130,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
