Warehouse Supervisor

Overview

Plans work, directs employees and gathers resources to meet production/customer needs, department and plant goals.

Responsibilities

• Studies production/shipping schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/material/shipping/receiving schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve material handling methods, equipment performance, and quality of service.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time and attendance records.
• Confers with other supervisors and leads to coordinate activities of the department.
• Coordinates efforts of shipping, receiving/warehouse/container process to ensure inventory accuracy, and ensure that the needs of vendors, customers and internal departments are met in a timely manner.
• Conducts daily pre-shift meetings with personnel.
• Participates in inventories and cycle count efforts.
• Evaluates and presents departmental and company performance results.
• Supervises truck drivers (tractor/trailer) engaged in delivery and pick-ups of production related materials.
• Supervises activities of employees engaged in the operation of remote warehousing facilities.
• Develops and maintains procedural manuals for all material handling personnel.
• Directly supervises employees in the warehouse, shipping and receiving.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience in materials preferred.
