Position Summary:
The DC Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support the Manufacturing function in a continuous effort to reduce production costs and improve product quality. This involves identifying opportunities for process and/or product improvement and then developing, testing, and implementing such changes to achieve the optimal economic return on the capital, material and manpower resources employed.
Responsibilities:
- Integration of ‘Best Practices’ to produce measurable improvements in labor productivity, material costs, lead times and product quality, in an intensive effort to continuously reduce overall manufacturing costs.
- Researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and related equipment to achieve increased productivity and/or reduced material costs.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Complete detailed documentation and reports as it relates to the project.
- Participate in frequent meetings as it relates to the progress of the project.
- Establish recommendations and present project findings to ABEC’s senior leadership team.
- Adhere to all company policies (Safety, Human Resources, IT, or other).
- Execute other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Obtaining a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or similar technical discipline.
- Ability to collaborate and fully engage with colleagues and external partners.
- Ability to organize work and engage in a variety of tasks.
- Work ethic that exudes integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
- Proficient in Excel.
