Position Title: Teaching Strategies Curriculum Coach

Overview:

The Teaching Strategies Curriculum Coach in Child Care is responsible for supporting early childhood educators in the effective implementation of curriculum and instructional practices aligned with the Teaching Strategies curriculum framework. This role involves providing training, mentoring, and ongoing support to educators to enhance the quality of teaching and learning experiences for young children. **Teaching Strategies Curriculum Coach must have 2 years experience with Teaching Strategies.**

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Implementation:

- Facilitate the implementation of the Teaching Strategies curriculum framework, including Creative Curriculum®, GOLD®, and other resources, to promote holistic development and school readiness in young children.

- Collaborate with educators to plan and adapt curriculum content, learning activities, and learning environments to meet the needs and interests of diverse learners.

2. Professional Development:

- Provide training, workshops, and ongoing professional development opportunities for educators on the principles, goals, and components of the Teaching Strategies curriculum.

- Model best practices in early childhood education, including play-based learning, intentional teaching, and assessment practices aligned with developmental milestones.

3. Coaching and Mentoring:

- Offer individualized coaching, feedback, and support to educators to enhance their teaching practices, classroom management, and child engagement.

- Conduct classroom observations, provide constructive feedback, and collaboratively set goals with educators to improve instructional quality and child outcomes.

4. Data Analysis and Assessment:

- Guide educators in using assessment tools such as GOLD® to observe, document, and analyze children's progress and development across multiple domains.

- Assist educators in interpreting assessment data, identifying areas of strength and growth, and using data to inform instructional decisions and individualized learning plans.

5. Family Engagement:

- Support educators in fostering positive relationships with families and caregivers, including sharing information about curriculum goals, children's progress, and home-school connections.

- Provide resources, workshops, and strategies to help families support their children's learning and development at home.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

- Two years experience working in early childhood education settings, with a deep understanding of child development principles and best practices.

- Knowledge of the Teaching Strategies curriculum framework and assessment tools, including Creative Curriculum® and GOLD®.

- Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, or professional development facilitation.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of educators, administrators, and families.

- Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive practices in early childhood education.

Additional Requirements:

- Certification or licensure in early childhood education may be preferred not required.

- Continued professional development and training in Teaching Strategies curriculum and assessment practices.

Working Conditions:

- Typically works in a child care center or early childhood education program setting.

- May require travel between multiple sites or classrooms within the organization.

- Work hours may vary, including evenings or weekends for professional development sessions or family engagement events.

The Teaching Strategies Curriculum Coach plays a vital role in supporting the professional growth of early childhood educators, promoting high-quality teaching practices, and ensuring positive learning outcomes for young children in child care settings.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.06 - $19.05 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
