Hardware Sales Estimator (Lumber)

Job Summary

As a Lumber and Hardware Sales Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in assessing customer needs and providing accurate cost estimates for lumber and hardware materials. Your expertise will guide customers in their decision-making process, ensuring they receive the right products for their projects while meeting budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation Services:

• Collaborate with customers to understand their project requirements, including construction, renovation, or repair needs.
• Evaluate and quantify the type and quantity of lumber and hardware materials necessary for each project.
• Utilize pricing knowledge and industry standards to provide accurate cost estimates.
• Offer recommendations for cost-effective alternatives or value-added product choices.

Product Knowledge:

• Stay current with industry trends and product offerings, including lumber, fasteners, building materials, and hardware.
• Advise customers on the features and benefits of various products and their suitability for specific projects.

Customer Consultation:

• Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to customer needs and offering tailored solutions.
• Answer inquiries and clarify doubts regarding materials, pricing, and project requirements.

Quotation Preparation:

• Prepare detailed and well-organized quotations, including material lists and cost breakdowns.
• Present quotes to customers in a clear and professional manner.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure the seamless delivery of materials and services.
• Consult with suppliers and vendors to obtain the most competitive pricing and availability of materials.

Documentation and Records:

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, and sales leads.
• Assist in tracking and managing customer orders.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in construction or building materials estimation is a plus.
• Proven experience in lumber and hardware sales estimation or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of lumber types, hardware products, fasteners, and construction materials.
• Proficiency in using estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Customer-focused with the ability to provide outstanding service.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,897.27 - $80,000.00 per year
