What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Program Instructor position at AbilityPath?
AbilityPath are hiring a Lead Instructor to join the team!
The Lead Instructor provides engaging instruction in support of high-quality participant services. In addition, the Lead Instructor provides mentorship and curriculum support for Community Instructors, Interns, and volunteers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Program Manager in day to day program operations
- Support training and onboarding of new staff
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goals; instruction may be community based, on-site or provided virtually.
- Utilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement
- Support administrative activities including: participant attendance tracking and service log entries, budget management, vehicle checks
- Responsible for Case Management activities including: conducting annuals and supporting Person Centered Planning meetings, developing and implementing participant Individual Service Plans (ISPs), tracking participant goal progress, case notes, incident reports, and other requirements.
- Assist participants in daily personal hygiene
- Supervise and assist participants during volunteer activities, paid work, classes, and other community activities
- Responsible for travel training participants using public transportation and the safety and well-being of participants while out on community outings
- Transport participants to activities and events; provide route service as needed
- Drive agency vehicles as needed
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education or work experience that meets job expectations; including but not limited to:
- Education Degree in applicable field
- Specialized certificate
- Applicable work or volunteer experience
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid California Driver’s License/ID
- Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of physical clearance
- Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 18 years of age or job permit clearance
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Accommodations made upon request to Human Resources
- Ability to physically respond to adults with developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift/support at least 40 lbs as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time and support adults with developmental disabilities on community outings
- Ability to drive company vehicles to transport participants
- Ability to sit and keyboard as needed
