What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial Area Supervisor position at Able Facility Solutions?
We are looking for an evening janitorial area supervisor who can become an area manager with the proper training. Estimated training is 3 - 6 months. During training, your job will be to assist our Director of Operations and learn how to maintain facilities.
Shift: Monday - Friday (Must be flexible)
Hours: 2pm - 8pm
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring assigned location(s) are thoroughly cleaned, assigned projects completed, and that customer is satisfied with completed work
- Assist operations manager in coverage of numerous accounts
- Maintain constant communication with Operations Management and Clients to ensure exceptional quality service
- Maintain on-going quality assurance procedures (quality control checks, inspections ,etc) at client sites
- Assist and complete special projects including strip & wax, deep cleaning, carpet cleaning, and others
- Conduct detail work such as buffing, scrubbing, and other items to ensure high quality services for all clients
- Must be knowledgeable in various janitorial equipment including auto scrubbers, buffers, side-by-side slow-speed and high-speed burnishers, and others
- Deliver supplies, chemicals, and equipment to sites when need be
- Ensure that all needed supplies and necessary equipment are available and in working condition for assigned worksites
- Report any service issues to operations and management
- Training of employees during evening hours when new clients are onboarded and / or new employees are hired
- Flexible schedule required, including weekend, evening, and holiday, as needed
- Resolve day-to-day operation concerns
- Other duties related to the position
Tasks may also include the following:
- Clean facility by sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming and cleaning surfaces
- Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, floors, toilet, mirrors, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc in restrooms, breakrooms, and kitchen
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to maintain safety and prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and kitchen
- Gather and empty trash cans and recyclables into disposal areas
- Wipe down walls and woodwork, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, etc.
- Handle additional approved special requests from customers
- Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours
- Ensure electrical appliance are turned off
- Identify and report possible repairs
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Responsible for ensuring assigned location(s) are thoroughly cleaned, assigned projects completed, and that customer is satisfied with completed work.
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must have experience in the janitorial industry
- Must be a self-starter who is detail-oriented with the ability to work independently with little supervision while meeting deadlines
- Must be able to take initiative to handle and correct issues in a timely manner and ensure the team gets work done on time
- Must have experience with janitorial machinery and procedures
- Spanish speaking/writing a plus, but not necessary
