AbleLight’s shared living arrangement also known as host home provides a family-like support environment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. AbleLight matches people seeking a new home environment with an individual, couple or family in the community who wish to share their life experience with a person who has a disability.Each Family Home Provider is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of an individual, respecting their personality, capabilities and hopes for the future.Family Home Providers are carefully screened and selected.An extensive matching process facilitates finding a home and family that is a "just right" fit for each other.The person who joins you has their own room, is included in family activities and benefits from the host family's connections to the community.All initial required training and on-going trainings are provided by AbleLight and are available on line.Family Home Providers are independent contractors who receive a daily tax-exempt stipend, plus room and board.The compensation range for this stipend is $38,525.00-$46,000.00, annually.
