Position Summary Details
This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and performing repairs on assigned HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such manner as to ensure optimal client relations.
General Description
- Under general supervision, assists with installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and testing of various types of HVAC equipment and systems
- Performs a variety of service work HVAC, including but not limited to:
- Filter changing
- Oiling and greasing
- Belt adjusting or replacement
- Cleaning of cooling towers, coils, evaporator, and condenser tubes
- General housekeeping
- Truck driving including pick up, lay out, and delivering required materials or equipment for installation, service and repair work
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) work
- Clean and organize warehouse(s), assist with annual inventory
- Operate a variety of tools and machines required to perform HVAC service work
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards
- Complete all paperwork associated with operations and shift responsibilities
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with HVAC equipment or a strong mechanical aptitude
- EPA Refrigeration certification a plus
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- A natural ability to deliver excellent customer service
- May be required to perform the following physical activities with or without accommodation: climb ladders, lift boxes and equipment, lift and handle HVAC tools and equipment, and walk over large campuses
- Good general maintenance skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer knowledge
- Good customer service skills, working professionally with management, tenants and coworkers
- Valid driver's license (without restrictions), clean driving record
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, or holidays
- Should possess a sincere and strong desire to learn with a willingness to follow directions
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening if required
- Interest in joining the HVAC Apprenticeship Training Program for local union.
