Job Title: Accountant/ Financial Analyst FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Controller
Summary:
Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We manufacture turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine manufacturers and military around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the controller, the Accountant/ Financial Analyst will play an integral role in supporting financial planning, analysis and special financial studies for Abrasive Form as well as performing general accounting functions.
- Involve and play key roles in month end closing and various accruals and balance sheet account reconciliations as required.
- Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial analysis schedules of actual versus budget variances.
- Generate, analyze, and publish various sales and other operational reports for the business such as gross margin analysis by part number and profitability by customer.
- Analyze and advise low margin part numbers for timely action.
- Provide financial analysis support for department managers.
- Develop ad hoc reports, special studies and financial analysis which drive the behavior of the business.
- Design and administration of key performance Indicators [KPI].
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP accounting.
- Experience in a job costing or activity-based costing environment.
- Analyze Material, Labor and Overhead movements leading up to month-end and explain variances.
- Ability to work in an environment that is rapidly changing, where processes and procedures are in development.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is required.
- Become a subject matter expert in EPICOR for finance & accounting.
- Willingness to learn the operational side of Abrasive Form organization.
- Awareness and reliability of timelines for the timely and accurate reporting of financial performance.
- Strong analytical ability with a high degree of accuracy.
- Prepare Journal Entries.
- Assisting in Year End, and Bank Audits as needed.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications and Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Work experience in EPICOR [KINETIC]ERP system is preferred.
- Open to learn and accept the challenges for advancement.
- Demonstrate the skill to handle the business need and prioritize to handle to avoid the pressures.
- 2 - 5 years of experience in general accounting experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook and web interfaces.
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial analysis and Accounting in a high-volume manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experience with the implementation or transition of an ERP system preferred.
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting at a computer in an office setting. Physical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds on occasion. Must be comfortable to be in the plant and in the office. Working Environment
Usual office and manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
