Our services are available to individuals and families who live in Sandoval and Bernalillo counties, New Mexico. Our programs include Infant/Toddler Services (early intervention), Autism Services, Respite Services, and Family Living.

We are looking for energetic and passionate individuals to work in the community as Behavior Technicians (BT) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We provide training and compensation even when client's cancel and during other non traditionally compensated activities like inputing notes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working under the supervision of a BCBA, and the Program Director, to learn new skills and to ensure mastery of skills needed for evaluations and assessments.
  • Direct services including the implementation of behavior intervention plans, skills acquisition plans, data collection and assessments as directed by the BCBA.
  • Utilize required evaluation tools such as VB-MAPP, Vineland, and preference assessments.
  • Under the supervision of a BCBA administer, score, and interpret formal testing instruments as appropriate and summarize results.
  • Consult with therapists and related professional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of behavior technician work.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and role difference among clients and families served.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and records as required by HIPAA and FERPA laws, and Department of Health and AFSS policies and procedures.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Travel within the state.
  • Other duties as required

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and coordinate a caseload.
  • Computer experience, knowledge of or demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, and other computer programs, as needed.
  • Compliant with all applicable New Mexico Public Health Order requirements.
  • Valid NM driver’s license, reliable transportation with current automobile liability policy

(bodily injury liability and property minimum must be $100/300/100) with continuous coverage.

  • A current professional liability insurance policy with continuous coverage. The agency will reimburse up to $110 per year.
  • Clearing a criminal background check required.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency is required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Other: Have completed the 40-hour RBT training and 4-hour ASD training and are a certified Registered Behavioral Technician with a high school diploma and 2 years or more of exemplary ABA service. Or have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Child Development, or related field, and have completed or are capable of completing the 40 hour RBT training and 4 hour ASD training, provided by Abrazos, and required to become an RBT®, and successfully pass the RBT exam to become certified as an RBT within 6 months of the first date of being hired.

Location & Compensation:

The position is based in Bernalillo New Mexico and provides best in state training, a fun, caring and welcoming work environment, competitive compensation, and a superior benefits package with ample opportunities for growth and learning. The hourly compensation range for BTs and RBTs is $15 to $21 based on knowledge, skills and abilities.
