POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Analyst will define, develop and deploy dashboards, reports and visualizations to enable metrics-driven decisions.
The Business Analyst must understand business/functional areas and translate them into requirements, identify available data
sources, recommend enhancement and understand/support the data strategy in the context of data governance and compliance
guidelines. This position must also create advanced queries for relational databases, auto-update visualizations, and present options
for improving data integrity/quality across our data warehouse.
The Business Analyst reports to the EVP of Finance, but works closely with and completes requests from the entire
team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
o Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
o Solicit and document requirements for dashboards, reports and visualizations
o Interact with business stakeholders/partners to understand their business and reporting needs, including critical
metrics and KPIs
o Design, develop and test BI Applications integrating reporting components from multiple data sources
o Maintain report documentation and data dictionary
o Monitor reporting systems for issues with data and report executions
o Provide daily support for reporting systems, which includes maintenance and enhancements to reporting systems
as well as responding to assigned tickets, troubleshooting and final resolution
o Ensure all reports and data transfers comply with Abstrakt security guidelines
o Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Degree from accredited 4-year college or equivalent experience
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Basic understanding of SQL development and troubleshooting, including developing stored procedures
Understanding of database management systems and development experience in one or more BI reporting Tools (Power BI,
Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, etc.)
Ability to understand business processes in order to create solutions that enable the business to effectively manage their
functions
Ability to effectively interpret and analyze data
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with others to achieve defined goals
Ability to build and maintain effective work relations
Ability to effectively manage conflict
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- SQL queries
- Power BI
- DAX
- Power Automate
- Power Query
- Optional: R and Python
- Optional: Experience with Amazon Redshift, S3, and
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Must be capable of working in an office-based or remote, collaborative environment to achieve business and departmental
- objectives.
- Must be comfortable in a position which requires working exclusively on a computer for the majority of the day.
