Opportunity
Abt Associates seeks a Data Analytics Specialist to support the Division of Health and Environment in the research, design and execution of data-intensive federal government projects focused on climate change, clean energy, public health, and related topics. The selected candidate will bring the technical expertise to develop quantitative solutions for client-facing projects. They will support cross-functional teams in managing data, performing analytics and statistical analysis, and communicating insights.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge in statistics, visualization, and data management to solve challenges with a variety of federal datasets.
- Identify ways to derive novel insights from government data, with particular focus on environmental, health, and socio-economic data.
- Provide support across the data lifecycle including data generation, organization, synthesis, automation, tool and workflow development.
Preferred Skills/Prerequisites
- Excellent analytical, data mining, data cleaning, data visualization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with statistical analysis of data.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Ability to consult with non-technical audiences on technical problems.
- Ability to manage competing project demands while maintaining a high attention to detail.
- MA/MS or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, environmental science (with quantitative focus) or related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Two years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree
