What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Call Outreach Advocates position at Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc.?
PURPOSE:
This position is related to sexual violence advocacy efforts. Job includes on-call and providing crisis intervention advocacy according the organization’s mission and enhance the results of the organization’s mission and efforts. Bi-Lingual Preferred.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide advocacy services to clients, including crisis intervention, information, referrals, and coordination of services.
2. Provide On-Call Services
3. Maintain a professional working relationship with all staff, sexual assault nurse examiners, participants, volunteers, law enforcement representatives and other agencies and coordinates services.
4. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
5. Works with supervisor to develop accurate and effective operating plans in the sexual assault services programs.
6. Assist with the on-call crisis response program in Lee County.
7. Participate in departmental and organizational staff meetings, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

TRAINING:
ACT Sexual Violence Privilege Training plus 8 hours of on-the-job training and other trainings as required by agency certifications and applicable state laws.
SKILL AND ABILITIES:
BI-LINGUAL PREFERRED - LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to give and receive information and ideas clearly and accurately whether in writing or verbally. Includes written communications such as reports, letters, memoranda, forms and verbal explanations of policies, procedures and techniques to volunteers and staff.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to plan and set realistic goals, objectives and priorities; anticipate possible problems; commit activities to a realistic but challenging schedule.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
a. Knowledge of psychological and sociological aspects of victimization.
b. Prior experience working with sexual assault survivors (preferred).
c. Ability to convey sensitivity to survivors of abuse.

Valid Florida Driver License and Valid Auto Insurance is required.
