Academic Approach is seeking multiple teachers for a school program with the Glenbard school district. The program will run Monday-Thursday, 2:45-8:30pm and Saturdays 3:45-6:30, January 2nd-April 8th. **The program rotates among the four Glenbard High School campuses according to the following schedule:

Mondays: Glenbard North High School, 990 Kuhn Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188
Tuesdays: Glenbard South High School, 23W200 Butterfield Rd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
Wednesdays: Glenbard East High School, 1014 S Main St, Lombard, IL 60148
Thursdays: Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
Saturdays: Classes are conducted virtually

Important Dates
January 2nd-4th: The Teachers will proctor diagnostic tests. The hours for these diagnostic tests are 2:45-9pm.
January 23rd: Classes begin
February 20th-22nd: The Teachers will proctor practice tests. The hours for these practice tests are 2:45-9pm.
Week of April 3rd: Last week of classes

Academic Approach requires proof of vaccination from all employees who work in-person with our students, partners, and/or other employees. Transportation to and from the program may be available for the right candidates.

Trainings are paid and will be conducted in the fall of 2022, prior to the program’s start in January.

NOTE: Please also note that-due to the nature of this tutor/instructor position-all candidates will need to complete a content quiz that includes English and math questions prior to being considered for an interview. This (untimed) quiz should take approximately 45 mins to complete.
What we offer:

  • Competitive pay, starting at $47/hr for classroom teaching with potential for increases based on performance.
  • Each Teacher will teach 9 sections. Each section meets for a total of 24 hours from January-April, for a total of 216 instructional hours per Teacher. Each Teacher will also proctor 36 hours of practice tests, which will also be paid as instructional hours, giving each Teacher a total of 252 instructional hours.
  • Paid training. The total compensation for training for this position is $763, paid as two stipends at the conclusion of relevant trainings.
  • Total Potential earnings of $12,607
  • After the conclusion of the program, Instructors would be eligible to take on other school programs (at a rate of $47 per hour) and 1-on-1 students (at a rate of $30 per hour) if interested.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in any subject or major.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and educational equity.

  • Ability to demonstrate academic expertise in English, math, reading, and science.
  • Consistent availability 2:45-8:30pm Monday-Thursday and 3:45-6:30 on Saturdays for the duration of the program.
  • All of our Tutors/Teachers must teach all subjects on the SAT.
