What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary technician / assistant position at Academy Animal Hospital?
**EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED** We are currently looking for a vet tech / assistant to add to our team. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE VET FIELD TO BE CONSIDERED. Duties include but are not limited to: under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian, take vitals and patient history, restrain animals during exams / vaccinations / treatment, administer medications, draw blood for lab work, observe animal behavior and health to report to veterinarian, keep accurate records and logs, assist with surgeries, clean and organize work areas, and maintain sterile areas. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are a MUST. Must also be willing to work rotating weekends and have the ability to keep up with the high demand and very fast-paced environment.
