Academy of Art University is currently hiring for an Assistant Director, Field Operations to lead the Security team that is vital to the safety of our blended student, faculty and staff population. This person will oversee all field operations in San Francisco pertaining to the Academy Patrol Team. Responsibilities: Manage the Campus Safety communications/dispatch center. Drive positive working relationships with local public safety agencies. Inspect all University buildings and make recommendations for security upgrades as needed. Manage, train, coach and motivate all Campus Safety Patrol Officers. Manage escorts as requested by the Executive Office and students. Develop new and innovative training programs for Patrol Officers. Ensure compliance with all payroll-related administrative matters. Review all investigative files and complete follow-up tasks as needed. Validate that all burglar alarms, door systems, and card systems are in working order. Work in partnership with the Associate Director of Campus Safety Academic Operations and Technology to create strategies to enhance safety-related processes, and crime prevention programs Requirements: Possess an active California Guard Card. Have a valid California driver's license and be insurable under the Academy's provider. A minimum of two years of professional experience in a related field, including supervising or leading a team is required. Effectively communicate policies and safety procedures to a broad population. Use sound judgement in difficult situations and solve problems in an effective manner. Demonstrate exceptional customer service to everyone while performing assigned duties. Manage time well and be able to prioritize competing tasks. Be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to walk several city blocks at a time.
