Facilities Engineer
Reports to: Manager, Operations Functional Area: Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Location: Wards 5 & 8 Job Classification Category: Administrative
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Facilities Engineer will work closely with the Operations Manager and the operations team to support all facilities activities and executes the school facility plan. The Facilities Engineer maintains the school buildings and grounds and oversees the upkeep of equipment and supplies. Facilities Engineer makes sure the buildings are well maintained, which entails determining, performing, and scheduling repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manages and completes work to support all facility related concerns such as maintenance or repair issues.
- Coordinates intra-office moves including supporting re-design of offices and common spaces and the setup and configuration of office spaces
- Coordinates and supports maintenance contractors and vendors to monitor extermination, plumbing, appliance maintenance, electrical and other services as needed
- Carries out routine checks and inspection of facilities and equipment
- Maintains current knowledge of Academy of Hope's safety and building maintenance and plan, ensuring the organization's adherence and compliance, and serves as a resource to staff
- Assists with the research and procurement for major equipment
- Reviews utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs and implement best practice processes to increase efficiency
- Implements facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements
- Supports facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking as needed
- Grounds services to include snow and ice removal and litter clean up
- Obtains, calculates and compares costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
- Manage tickets in the electronic ticket management system

- Possess superior multi-meter skills.
- Possess superior hand tool skills.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between work sites or other locations.
- Must have 2-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
- Ability to perform and coordinate facility projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; every other Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm; with occasional evening shifts to 7:00 pm dependent on programmatic activities and staff availability.

- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this position is currently working a hybrid model, telework and on-site. Schedule will be determined by Senior Leadership Team
