What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Registered Nurse position at ACADIA?
The Psychiatric RN at Mount Carmel Behavioral Health is a clinical professional that will work closely with each field throughout our facility to ensure our patients are receiving exceptional care. The Psychiatric RN will serve as a valued source of both medical care and compassionate support. Functions include, but not limited to:
- Provide and coordinate patient care by assessing physical and behavioral needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, maintain patient medical records, and educate patients/families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
- Administer medications in a timely manner and according to physician orders.
- Coordinate with Intake and Clinical Services departments to assist and facilitate admission and discharge process.
- Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention and maintaining rational detachment.
- Communicate in therapeutic and professional manner with patients, visitors, co-workers and all involved in patient treatment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
- Current/valid State of Ohio RN license required.
- One (1) or more years’ experience within psychiatric field, specifically adult and geriatric patient population preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification training required.
