What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSE Advisor position at Acadian SMS?
The HSE Advisor provides support to facilities and operations to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in preparing HSE plans (Interface documents, Project Plans, Emergency Response and Preparedness Plans, etc.)
- Oversee and maintain HSE key performance indicators
- Train employees and lead discussions on QHSSE topics
- Monitor HSSE Observation processes
- Manage QHSSE data including incident reporting, HSE observations, action items, etc.
- Organize and be involved in incident investigations as required
- Lead closure of all HSE reports and action items as assigned
- Facilitate and attend all safety meetings
- Work with project HSSE Techs and paramedics for potential reporting of incidents/injuries
- Lead and participate in safety meetings in both land and offshore job sites
- Conduct job site and facility HSE inspections on a regular basis
- Support management in tracking QHSSE aspects for statistical analysis
- Be an active participant of the local Emergency Response Team and aid in local facility HSE duties
- Take the lead concerning regulatory agencies and concerns such as inspections, safety tours, incident management, etc.
- Willingness to board offshore vessels routinely and sail with vessels to provide HSE support
- Write frequent reports and correspondence
Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- Possess valid driver’s license with approved motor vehicle record
- Have a minimum of 5 years in HSE or related experience
- Ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel, valid TWIC, OGUK or equivalent offshore medical , BOSIET or equivalent offshore emergency training
- HSE, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Engineering related degree required
- Professional certification in HSE preferred
- Willingness to travel and work remotely on job sites including offshore vessels
- Working knowledge of industry standard safety programs/processes (HSE Observations, Management of Change, Behavior Based Safety, Permit to Work, Stop Work Authority, etc.)
- Proficiency in use of office administration software Office 365
