What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Inspector position at Acara Solutions?
Acara Solutions is looking for a Mechanical Inspector for our client located in Simi Valley, CA
- Responsible for inspection of products at various stages of the production process in accordance with the company's procedures for safety and quality.
- Uses various measuring devices to accept, reject, and reevaluate defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
- Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, or inspection instructions and checklists as applicable.
- Reads and interprets the requirements of drawings and plans.
- Analyzes drawing requirements and makes sound determination(s) of the appropriate inspection method/equipment to be used for product acceptance.
- Tests, measures, and analyzes mechanical products.
- Uses all inspection/test equipment to include the usage of a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) in determining product acceptance.
- Constructs complex inspection set-up(s) and perform required inspections (using set-up) to determine product acceptance.
- Is able to initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay and Benefits:
- The Salary for this position is between $ 23.00 and $28.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6 years' experience performing critical and complex inspection
- Minimum of 6 years' experience with CMMs.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Be able to use calipers, micrometers, height gage, and other small hand tools.
- Be proficient with surface plate set ups.
- Be proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Weld Inspections
- Calibration
- Electrical products such as components, circuit boards (IPC-610) and cables (IPC-620)
- Fork Lifts
- High Work
