What you will be doing... Your IMPACT 

• Supervise the daily vessel activities and ensure appropriate training for all wheelhouse Team Members.
• Facilitate the implementation of programs, best practices, and policies for all boats to achieve an injury-free workplace.
• Ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations.
• Responsible for Team Member issues regarding hiring/discharging, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide positive leadership consistent with ACBL’s operating priorities.
• Audit to ensure regulatory compliance, provide feedback, and examine industry best practices on compliance issues.
• Audit vessels to ensure ACBL standards are in place to achieve continuous improvement metrics and goals.
• Assist with establishing departmental goals.

What we are looking for...

You will need to have:

• 5 Years of vessel leadership within the barge transportation industry is required.
• Previous experience as a port captain or related position is required.
• Must possess a license to operate towing vessels.
• Must qualify for a TWIC.
• Competence managing from a remote location is required.
• Strong knowledge of barging operations and river systems is required.

Even better if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Working knowledge of government regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in using MS Office software is helpful.
