Position Title: Enrollment Counselor

Reports to: Enrollment Outreach Manager

Location: Remote

FTE: Full-time 

Salary: $40,000/year   

 

Job Description

Enrollment Counselors work with the Enrollment Marketing and Communications Team and are accountable for recruiting and enrolling students to achieve the organization’s student enrollment growth objectives. Enrollment Counselors will coordinate all aspects of assisting prospective students with the application and enrollment process. 


Role Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Sales, or a related field preferred

Years of Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in sales or call center 

Background check: Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history

Language: Bilingual (Spanish preferred)


The Enrollment Counselor team is accountable for recruiting and enrolling students over the phone to achieve our student enrollment growth objectives. 


Responsibilities

  • Serve as an enrollment expert to students and families during the enrollment process. 
  • Participate in outbound calling campaigns to recruit potential applicants.
    • Specifically targeted/identified young adults who are not currently enrolled in their local school district or diploma-earning program. Requirements vary district to district. 
  • Coordinate all aspects of assisting a prospective student to apply fully, from gathering contact information to follow up, assisting with application completion, inviting prospective candidates to tour our local academies, and/or connecting with the applicant with more information via text/call/video chat/video message, etc.
    • Lead follow-up and nurturing
  • Develop stamina and persistence to reach our target audience
  • Ability to handle a high volume of customer inquiries and outbound calls
  • Keep records of all conversations in our call center database in a comprehensible way
  • Meet personal/team qualitative and quantitative targets / quotas
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Ability to clearly articulate the value of a high school diploma in a way that inspires hope and optimism and moves people to action
  • Inspirational presence, reliable leadership, and excellent group and individual rapport-building and communication skills (written and verbal) in a range of relationships and environments.
  • Relationship building: in particular, with prospective students and colleagues
  • Driven by student and academy requirements to understand what the applicant needs, along with what they value and why, and ability to apply creative thinking to make a difference.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a sales or call center capacity preferred
  • Computer skills required to navigate CRM database web based portals
    • Ability to adapt and quickly learn new technology platforms
    • Booking follow up appointments for interested applicants via video call or phone call. 
  • Demonstrate good organizational practices to allow for data prioritization and follow up management. 
  • Ability to take ownership of recruitment efforts and pipeline management
  • Demonstrate superior time-management,organizational skills, and accurate record keeping.
  • Comfortable adapting to fast-paced, changing environments
  • US work authorization


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRMs, preferably Hubspot
  • Experience with telemarketing dialer software, preferably Five9
  • Customer empathy and service experience
  • Collaboration on enrollment strategies and areas for improvement. 
  • Outcomes-driven, working with a focus on achieving desired outcomes. 
  • Continuously Improves and actively seeks opportunities for improvement while presenting ideas for increasing effectiveness and efficiency of own work. 
  • Demonstrates willingness and flexibility to adapt their own approach to new ways of working to achieve improved outcomes.
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer; extensive reading; and verbal communication.
