We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will be leading the Translational and Exploratory Biology group and can thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.  In this position, you will be responsible for translational research activities related to cardiopulmonary and renal diseases, various signaling pathways including TGF-beta and related response biomarkers. You will guide the translational biology team perform in-vivo studies, in-vitro and ex-vivo studies and explore signal transduction mechanisms. You will partner with the senior director of the group with the goal of validating therapeutic potential of different drug targets in preclinical and translational disease models. In this position, you will collaborate with various cross functional groups that include discovery research, clinical sciences and clinical pharmacology. You will get to apply your innovative mind to our cutting-edge science and work alongside a motivated team.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the translational biology team in designing various studies and analyzing research data
  • Guide cardiopulmonary and renal research projects investigating mechanism of action of different therapeutic candidate molecules and establishing target engagement levels for future human studies
  • Working with cross functional drug development groups to help bring research stage molecules to clinical development and beyond
  • Responsible for guiding the research team develop novel liquid and histology-based biomarkers
  • Explore novel cutting-edge methodologies to help solve scientific problems
  • Preparing, presenting and reviewing scientific presentations for internal/external use

What are we looking for?

  • PhD degree with a minimum of 8 years of industrial experience in exploratory biology and translational research
  • Through expertise in at least in one disease biology, protein biochemistry and cellular signaling mechanisms. Experience in TGF beta signaling pathway and/or cardiopulmonary and renal diseases will be helpful but not mandatory
  • Experience in managing research team (5-6 personnel) while guiding their research projects including but not limited to liquid and nucleic acid-based biomarkers, histology research and signal transduction mechanisms
  • Experience in biomarker research and understanding of PK-PD relationships
  • Through understanding of drug development from discovery phase to clinical development
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting genomic data will be helpful
  • Strong written and oral communication skills: Extensive experience giving presentations both internally and externally to various stake holders, KOLs and in scientific conferences; comfortable giving virtual and remote presentations. Experience in writing pharmacological study reports and IND’s.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet project deadlines
