As the HR Manager, you'll be the go-to person for all things employee-related. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HR department; managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, employee benefits, performance management, training & development, and talent management.
The HR Manager will be instrumental in leading our employee-centered initiatives, ensuring that our team is engaged, and aligned with our mission.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of our dedicated team, ensuring that everyone is empowered to do their best work. Additionally, you will assist with performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support professional growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with our company's goals and values.
- Cultivate meaningful partnerships with external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
- Actively participates in the recruitment process, prescreening and interviewing qualified candidates while collaborating with departmental managers to identify skills and competencies required for open positions.
- Champion the onboarding process by ensuring that it's high-quality and up to date and provide clarity and connection for employees so their roles serve the overall business vision.
- Facilitate a welcoming and engaging new hire orientation that effectively communicates our workplace culture, ensuring every newcomer feels connected and inspired from day one.
- Provide timely and confidential support to employees and supervisors on employment-related matters.
- Administration of Benefits Plans and enrollment.
- Manage Workers Compensation reporting and documentation.
- Manage FMLA, Non-FMLA and Personal Leaves in compliance with Federal and State laws and company policy.
- Support the HR Director by conducting workplace investigations, thoroughly documenting the issues, timelines, concerns, and relevant facts.
- Stay up to date on HR trends and regulatory changes to continuously improve our practices.
- Handle confidential matters with integrity.
Requirements:
Required Education, Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. (Must be obtained within one year of hire.)
- Minimum three to five years of HR management experience.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to navigate challenging situations.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with emotional or confrontational circumstances
- High level of detail and accuracy.
- Exercises high-judgement decision making and critical thinking
- Understands Short-term disability, Workers Compensation and FMLA.
- Knowledge of employee benefits.
- Ability to Multi-task, start and complete a variety of tasks each day.
- Self-starter and self-managing, ability to work independently without constant oversight.
- Ability to develop and maintain efficiency systems and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
