```Job Overview```
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Project Manager with an Electrical Engineer Background to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of projects and the advancement of our company.
```Duties```
- Learn and assist the construction of the project through administrative direction and technical support of the project team to ensure project and company goals are achieved (profit, reputation, people & excellence).
- Assist in being a liaison with superintendent, field operations, subcontracts, materials, and project management.
- Provides administrative and technical operations leadership for a project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of electrical components into larger systems
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions
- Create technical documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and reports
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering
Project Costs
- Identify potential cost changes
- Estimate ft record changes to scope of work
- Assist with maintenance of potential change order & change order request logs
- Reconcile subcontractor alternates and allowances
- Issue subcontractor change orders
- Participate in the review of construction costs
Field
- Work with Superintendent to resolve field problems
- Communicate changes, owner requests, etc. w/ Superintendent and Field Team
- Monitor each Subcontractor's scope of work to ensure that work is being completed
- Coordinate with Subcontractor's Superintendents and/ or Foreman
- Ensure all work is accurate, precise and of the highest quality
- Take an active role in understanding the technical aspects of the building, systems, materials, installation, procedures, etc.
- Take an active role in developing your expertise as a "builder" (I.e., why we build the way we build and what is special about each building type)
```Qualifications```
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices
- Experience with designing and testing electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
