Job Description:
The Family Support Supervisor will support Certified Family Peer Advocates/Family Partners, Transitional Care Coordinators, and a Youth Peer Advocate and the work they do with families of at risk youth as well as youth in the process of transitioning into adulthood. To continue to explore and develop opportunities and activities that support families and youth.
Responsibilities:
-Assign cases to Family Partners, Transitional Care Coordinators, and Youth Peer Advocate
-Review safety plans, progress notes, and other documentation
-Participate in departmental team meetings and be responsible for holding
-Provide monthly statistics to OCDMH
-Attend program and department meetings
-Works closely with OCDMH to plan for families
-Represents family voice at meetings, trainings etc..
-Helps to develop and facilitate support groups, educational groups and activities for youth and families
-Educate service providers on the value of Family Support
-Attend Regional SPOA meetings
-All responsibilities of Family Partner
Qualifications:
-High school diploma and Family Peer Advocate Certification with at least 2 years experience
-This candidate will have demonstrated direct experience in meeting the needs and concerns of at risk youth and families in an empathetic and professional manner
-Must be sensitive to the impact of having a child with serious emotional, social or behavioral challenges
-The ability to represent Family Voice across systems
-Demonstrate the leadership skills to enhance and expand Family Support across the county
-Ability to work as a team player with a variety of agencies
-Attend appropriate training as needed to maintain peer certifications and enhance professional/program development
-Must be organized and be able to prioritize
-Ideal candidate will have supervisory experience
-Good organizational, writing and telephone skills
-Knowledge of the Children’s Mental Health system and the Special Education system
-Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed
-Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
-Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
